Who am I???

On the left side I start off with pictures of my family.. Family defines most of who I am.. With out them I would be nothing... No matter how crazy they are:).. At the top i have a picture of my step dad my sister and I at my step dads wedding.. He and my mother raised me becuase my father wasnt realy in the picture.. Then it goes to my grandma.. She is the most understanding wonderful person in the whole world... The picture of the four ladies is my mothers bological sisters, my sister and I.. They live far and even though I only ge tto see them 2 times a year i still charish them and they are a part of me.. I have my mother and i in the middle this is becuase even though we bump heads all the time our love conquers all.. I also have a picture of my sister.. We dont look anything alike because we have different biological fathers, but I consider her father my father.. He willbe the one walking me down the aisle ( if I ever get married lol ).. I have a picture of both my dads sides of the family, along with a picture of both sides of my mothers family, Biological and adopted.. the picture where we are dressed up in old western clothes is a picture of my aunt that i live with.. I call her sissy and with out her i would be a complete dissaster in this world!! She is my support system and there will never be word to express my gratitude for her..

I also put in the middle my nicknames.. I gave myslef the nickname of Skul Gurl  kind of like a signature name... Then i have apicture of dumbo.. This is because my family has always calle dme dumbo.. then i have apicture of my high school graduation whoch shows my ambition for school because i was the first out of all sides of my family to do so...

Then i have the section i labeled as my life.. I consider this as my recent life and what really defines who I am.. My niece is first, shes not reallybiologically my niece, she is my best friedns child.. But i consider her no less to me than my niece, She is my pride and joy.. In the right corner i have a picture of my best friedns and I.. They really define who I am.. Even though one passed away she will live inside my heart forever.. I also have a picture of me getting one of my tattos done.. This tatto is wings with my best friends name on my back to represent her life andhow she is an angel now... I also have a picture of all 3 of us AMINGOs graduating high school and walking together... In the middle I have a picture of my oldest friedna and I.. We have been best friedns since 4th grade.. I also have picture of a few of my friends that are dear to my heart and who i can always laugh with no matter what..

Through out the picture i also addded some wuotes and words that defien me and my personality along with interests :)

To conclude my identity i would like to leave you with a quote..
"Sometimes we need to stop analyzing the past. Stop planning the future.. Stop trying to figure out how we feel.. Stop deciding with our mind what our heart feels.. Soemtimes we just have to go with Whatever Happens, Happens." -My auntie

IDENTITY??????

MOST ARTIST ARGUE THAT ART HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT IDENTITY. THE LAST 3RD OF THE 20TH CENTURY WAS USED AS A WAY BY ARTISTS TO EXPRESS/CELEBRATE THEIR IDENTITY. ART IS SUPPOSED TO BE OPEN AND FREE. NO ONE CAN REALLY SAY ART IS NOT ART. IF THE ARTISTS SEES THE PIECE AS ART, AND A WAY FORT HEM TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES, THEN IT IS ART. NO ONE HAS THE ABILITY TO STATE THE FACT THAT ART IS NOT ART. THEY COULD ONLY STATE THEIR OPINION.
SOEMTIMES WE MAY CHOOSE OUR IDENTITY, BUT OFTEN IT IS PUT ONTO US BY SOCIETY AND OUR CULTURE. THE EXAMPLE GLENN USED WAS IF THE ECONOMY IS BAD, THEN PEOPLE WILL FEEL STRESSED. THIS MAY CHANGE WHO YOU ARE AND YOUR IDENTITY.

I drew Dumbo for the day we were not in class simply because Glenn asked us to draw a picture or do something artistic.. I figureed I would draw Dumbo because growing up this was my nickname in my family for me.. So I figured why not give it a shot at drawing him even though I am not artistic at all :)

This is a painting by Jean-Honorore Fragonard. His work is amazing , well at least to me. Although when he was a painter in the  17th-18th centuries his work was not appreciated. This I don’t understand because it just looks so beautiful to me. It is apparent that the lady Is holding a musical instrument and on some clouds. So maybe this is what heaven is supposed to be like. Or maybe this was the ladies real passion: music. And just maybe when that person played the music it was so beautiful that it made it seem dreamy. Or maybe this lady and the child where jus fragments of his imagination.

Hey its me!!

I did not get this artist’s name, but I thought this picture was interesting well for one it kind of reminded me of the titanic. But the other reason is most pictures back then were of naked women with pubic hair. This lady had none. I really wonder why because I remember it was a paintinf=g from like the 18th or 19th century. And she looks kind of pregnant. Maybe that’s why she is holding her belly?

2-2-11 Years and Years of Paint

We started off talking about the art of before mankind. The Australopithecus a species before us. They carried the pebble 20 miles to their cave. The pebble looks like a face was carved into it, but in reality it was the water that created it.
Then we looked at beyond, which had a picture that was placed on a spaceship. It had simple lining with stars, the sun and numbers.
We followed that with talking about Goth. This was the age of the cathedral. some parts of them were burned and rebuilt. But the real controversy was the glass windows.
Renaissance precursors we looked at the  images of Jan Van Eyck called the Madonna and the Child and The Arnolfini Portrait

High Renaissance: That time periods artists were some of the most famous of all time including Micheal Angelo, Leanardo and Raphael
 Pieta by Michelangelo

Baroque is an excessive drama filled area. With the artist of Bernini who sculpted David, He tried to own it since Micheal Angelo had already done this. This area also had the Cornaro Chapel. Behind the altar is “Ecstasy” Which is St Teresa of Avilla.

Lastly is the Rococco period which is even more excessive and drama filled. This area consisted of “The Swing”, Reynold Siddons and Marie Antoinette.

* All and all This skim through gave me the gist of the painting area through out history. It was fast, but yet interesting. I would have added more but my computer would not let me open Freemind, So i had to go off my notes and google some pictures. But i believe i got the gist of the history of painting. I would have to say i though tit was interesting and fun to learn about all these different types of painters and the way time has evolved the paintings.
